We are dedicated to provide a safe race for spectators, volunteers
and spectators. We have the following plans to assure this:
Off-duty deputies have been hired to assist with crowd and traffic
control.
The Lake Waconia Association and the
Waconia Fire Department will be assisting during the
swimming portion and will provide adequate boats, jet skis and
safety for swimmers. Along the 1/2 mile swim course there will
be certified life guards. We will also be contacting the Sheriff Water
Patrol and Waconia Fire Department Water Rescue teams.
Each swimmer is required to wear the
provided swim cap for
easier identification in the water.
Bikers are required to wear a bike helmet during the entire
biking portion of the race.
Volunteers will be at each intersection to assist with the flow
of traffic and assist the participants.
Two-way radios and cellular phones will be used to provide
communication along the race route.
Spotters will be roaming the race course for potential problems
during the race.
Medical Services will be provided by Ridgeview Medical Center. An
ambulance will be present on a stand-by basis.
Extra porta-potties will be brought in for the race day.
The Lakeside Ballroom has agreed to allow us to use their parking
facilities on race day to handle any overload of the parking lot.
